The Institute for Examinations in English, Music & Speech

We offer expert training for teachers in the following areas. 1) Diploma and certificate  examinations in the teaching of  Speech and Dramatic art 2) Diploma and certificate examinations in Teaching English as a Second Language ( TESL/ Spoken English) 3) Certificate Examinations in Classroom Practise (Levels 1 - 4) The Institute for Examinations in Music and Speech began offering examinations in English Language and allied subjects in 1990. Since then it has developed rapidly, establishing a widespread and ever growing network of teaching centres throughout Sri Lanka. The IEMS offers both graded and diploma examinations, in a range of subjects; including: Spoken English Written English Speech and Drama Effective Speaking Choral Speech The Speaking of verse and prose and Speech Theory.
