The Bachelor of Education Honours in Natural Sciences Degree Programme

Applications are called for the Bachelor of Education (Natural Sciences) Degree Programme jointly conducted by the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Natural Sciences. B .Ed (Nat.Sc) Programme is a four-year programme especially planned for Science/Mathematics teachers or prospective teachers. The Faculty of Natural Sciences conducts Levels 3 and 4 (Science Courses) and the Faculty of Education Levels 5 and 6 (Education Courses) of the programme. 1. Eligibility for Admission to the Programme obtained a minimum of 3 passes at any number of sittings at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in three Science subjects, or, obtained a minimum of 36 from among the Foundation Courses in Science offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, acceptable for the selection of three disciplines at Level 3, or, secured an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Open University of Sri Lanka. 2. Exemptions from Level 5 Teachers who have successfully followed the 3 year Teacher Education programme of a National College of Education and hold the Diploma in Teaching Science/Mathematics would be exempted from Level 5 of B.Ed Programme  --
