English Classes for kids (Kindergarten to Grade 5)

I specialize in teaching English to children from kindergarten to grade 5. My classes are designed to build a strong foundation in the English language, focusing on: Reading and Comprehension: I help young learners develop their reading skills, ensuring they understand and enjoy the stories they read. Writing and Grammar: I teach children how to express themselves clearly through writing, with a focus on proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. Speaking and Listening: My lessons encourage confident communication, where children practice speaking English fluently and listening attentively to others. Phonics and Vocabulary: I use fun and interactive methods to teach phonics, expanding children's vocabulary and helping them recognize sounds and words. My teaching approach is engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child's individual needs, ensuring they develop a love for learning English that will serve them well in their academic journey and beyond. Qualifications I did an English Certificate Course at the University of Colombo and then another Certificate Course in English at Saegis Campus, Nugegoda. Apart from that, I have done the Computer Accounting and Computer Studies Diploma Course at The IT Computer Academy (Computer Training Centre Sri Lanka). After that, I started to do a Higher National Diploma Course in Business (Operations Management) at IDM Achievers International Campus (Pvt) Ltd. After that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education Degree at Metropolitan College, which is certified by Girne American University. Experience During my journey to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education, I discovered my passion for teaching young children, which led me to change my career path. I was selected to join Lyceum Leaf Kottawa, where I currently work as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher. I have been working as a teacher at Lyceum for the 3 years. In this role, I am responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that engage and educate young learners. I focus on fostering a nurturing and supportive environment, where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow. My experience at Lyceum Leaf Kottawa has deepened my commitment to early childhood education, allowing me to apply my theoretical knowledge in a practical setting and develop my skills as an educator.
