St. Thomas College - Gurutalawa

S Thomas College Gurutalawa has come a long way since may 12th June 1942 when it began as a branch of the parent school with fifty five boarders and two day boys. From its very inspection S. Thomas College, Gurutalawa has been a school where boys of many races and religious mingled freely and harmoniously. Even in the dark days of 1958 and later in 1983 racist feelings were never tolerated in the school. Started in 1942 the S. Thomas College at Gurutalawa was started by Dr. R.L. Hayman as a branch of the S. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia.
