Rehabilitation Centre for the Communication Impaired (RCCI)

The School Readiness Programme The School Readiness Programme builds foundation skills for the classroom. We work with students age 4 – 7 with ASD, ADHD and intellectual disabilities to develop social communication skills, fine motor skills and to build the ability to follow routines. Day Centre The Day Centre at the RCCI provides respite care for children and adults with severe intellectual and physical disabilities. Those enrolled in our Day Centre require a high level of attention. Some need one-to-one attention at all times. The RCCI Institute The RCCI Institute provides training for teachers interested in working with students with special needs. We conduct regular after school training sessions Vocational Training / Independence Training Our Vocational Training/ Work Readiness Program provides young adults with the skills needed to enter the work force. We typically enroll students 16+ with a high level of functional literacy and self help skills such as the ability to dress, feed and toilet themselves. We also work with potential employers to develop training programmes tailored to the roles they need and help students transition into the workplace. The Rehabilitation Center for the Communication Impaired (RCCI) is a not for profit organization established in 1993 to care for children and adults with special needs. Today, the RCCI continues to strive for a world where every person with special needs has the opportunity to access education, embrace expanded possibilities and reach their full potential for independence. We incorporate Speech and Language Therapy into our teaching programme and place an emphasis on the development of social communication skills to facilitate integration into society.
